The Truth About Truth

The Truth About Truth

Everyone wants to know the ultimate TRUTH.

But no one wants to practice Truth as a way of life!

Being truthful in everyday life?

In the present day society with all its horrendous ills? No way!

One cannot succeed in life without a little bit of lies here and there.

And so goes the frivolous excuses of the materialists.

In the same breath they also say ‘but I want to get enlightened!’

Isn’t that the height of aspiration!

How can one demand the revelation of Ultimate Truth

When one is unwilling to practice truth in life?

It is like wanting to master computer but unwilling to sit in front of a computer.

Like wanting to master violin but refusing to practice on it!

Realisation of ultimate Truth comes only to those

who diligently practice ‘being truthful’ as a way of life.

What is Truth anyway?

If it is the esoteric truth, then you are aiming high and

Looking at a journey with serious commitments.

How does a soul realize and comprehend Truth?

By experimenting with truth.

And how does a soul experiment with Truth?

By learning to face the repercussions of speaking truth.

By deciding to be truthful or not, during everyday incidents.

We are afraid of speaking the truth for a variety of reasons.

It could be the fear of being exposed of our inner motives.

Or it could be the fear of hurting the sentiments of near and dear ones.

Or it could jeopardize our status in the society.

Or it could lead to unrest and a break in the family.

Innumerable reasons.

All these are fine and needed to be grappled with, by the soul in the journey.

But are we talking about the mundane life of an ordinary man

Or the revolutionary journey of a Christ?

If it is to become a Buddha or a Christ or a Krishna,

then the scopes for compromises are practically nil.

It leaves us with nothing but truth.

Spiritual journey is all about a search for Truth.

The Truth about Self.

Who am I?

The moment one asks that question,

the upward spiral of the soul’s inner journey starts!

From Truth one descends, to the dense plane of Non-Truth.

From Light one descends, to Darkness.

From soul to body consciousness.

How can one understand Truth unless one experiments with non-truth?

Experimentation and a play with non-truth are essential steps in one’s journey towards Krishna Consciousness.

Physical body is non-truth. So is mind and knowledge.

Darkness follows non-truth.

All possible permutations and combinations of non-truth are tried through life times. Until in exasperation, the soul cocooned inside the body having tasted the effects of non-truth, tottering in darkness, pleads…

Omṁ

Asato mā śad gamaya

Tamaso mā jyotir gamaya

Mrutyor mā amritam gamaya

Omṁ śānti śānti śānti

(Brihadāranyaka Upanishad 1.3.28)

Aum

Lead us from ignorance, to truth;

Lead us from darkness, to light;

Lead us from death, to immortality.

Aum Peace, Peace, Peace.

Soul now knows that life is where Light is.

And to see Light, practicing Truth is important.

A search for Light and Truth begins.

Material journey is all about experiments with Non-Truth.

Spiritual journey is all about experiments with Truth.

Are small lies or non-truth a part of our life?

Like indicating our position on the road as we drive for a business appointment when we are late. We tend to tell our position closer to the meeting point than it actually is. Or we blame it on traffic jams! Small lies.

Do we ask ‘how are you?’ for the sake of formality? Small lies. Period.

Always remember, you are on an epic and sacred journey to realize Truth!

These small lies define us. It defines how we want the world to perceive us.

To protect this image, we sacrifice truth with small lies.

We tend to ignore the fact that we are lying.

Over a period of time such lies become accepted in the onward journey called spiritual growth.

One wants to know the Ultimate Truth, the inner secret to life and beyond.

But one is unwilling to practice even small truths!

What an irony!

Ultimate Truth comes only to those

Who let go of the need to be untruthful in everyday lives.

It’s not important to look good in front of others.

What is important is how good you look in front of you!

If you cannot be truthful to your own self,

How can you be truthful to others?

How can you expect others to be truthful to you?

How can the Universe show you the TRUTH?

Practice Truth.

Start with small things.

Ordinary events.

Everyday incidents.

Never lie. Not even once!

Speak Truth. Always.

Do not cover it up with traffic jams!
