My Life Is In My Hands
We are all looking for ‘Santosha’ in life.
We are all looking for being Happy within.
When we do things we are passionate about, we forget the whole world and feel ‘Santosha’.
But when we look at the spiritual aspect of life, then we realise that the material ways of acquiring Santosha – happiness, is so miniscule compared to the powers within us.
The greatest statement that I have heard is of Buddha’s :
‘You are the sum total of your Thoughts and Emotions.’
Whatever you are today is based on things that you have thought so far.
What kind of thought processes are you indulging in, on a day to day basis?
If your thought processes are great, beautiful, positive then your life has to be positive.
But then if your life is not positive; if your life is full of difficulties, frustration and things that don’t make you happy, then you blame everything on others. Which is natural because of life’s circumstances.
But the enlightened ones tell us that it has got nothing to do with your outer circumstances.
Your INNER circumstances decide who you are today.
And here lies the secret to a beautiful and powerful life because what you are thinking, you are unaware.
This has to get ingrained :
‘My Life Is In My Hands’.
How beautiful my life can be, is decided by me.
There lies a latent potential within us which is so powerful, the elements of which are untapped by us.
So, how do we tap that?
And the easiest answer is Meditation.
But you may not connect with that because you see it as non action. And all your life you have been taught to do action.
Here comes the aspect of the Atman, the Soul.
We are Consciousness.
‘Pragyanam Brahma’.
Consciousness is the Brahm or Universe.
So, my Consciousnes is what decides my world.
How do I tap into the Consciousness?
What are the elements of Consciousness?
My thoughts, my feelings, my emotions, my ideas within me, my aspirations and my desires.
But, none of these things are physical – cannot be sensed with the five senses.
We learnt so many things to become better in life all of which can be sensed by the five outer senses. But the spiritual science says,
In the physical world,
however much you do, however much you progress,
however much you become the best in the whole world,
it can impact you very little.
Many, many million, trillion times more powerful is,
if you become a master of your feelings, of your thoughts, of your emotions, of your desires, of your aspirations and of your ideals.
These things are what really matter. That is where OUR role comes.
You need to learn to play with your emotions, to master the different aspects of the emotion that are within you.
So, every Guru Purnima is the time for you to assess what you have done so far.
Also, to make a decision to do something more so that next year it becomes better.
The Outer prosperity for us will come when the Inner becomes satisfied.
